We were walking along NW 23rd, a road very popular for trendy boutiques. Not long after we got off our bus, Blizzard recognized Alotto Gelato as one of the gelato shops that she read about. Seeing that it was another hot day, starting our walk with gelato seemed like a good idea.
Here’s the array of gelato offered here:
Here were my choices for gelato today:
Coconut
Salted Caramel
Coconut & Salted Caramel Gelato
It didn’t take long before my gelato melted right in front of my eyes! I chose coconut because I really wanted to compare it against my other gelato experiences. It was a good flavor but, in my opinion, not quite as authentic as Mario’s Gelati. My second flavor, salted caramel, was chosen because I was in the mood for the sweet-salty combination, especially after I had a delicious maple bacon doughnut from Voodoo Doughnut the night before. This one hit the spot.
Alotto Gelato is a small gelato shop offering a good variety of gelato flavors. We enjoyed our experience here and found the gelato to be especially satisfying on this very hot day.
The good…
- Variety of flavors
The bad…
- A bit pricey
