August 5, 2012 – Afternoon snack
Written by: Second Stomach
Blizzard, Purple Parrot, and I were waiting for our shuttle to go to the airport. Meanwhile, we decided to spend a bit of time in the lounge right inside our hotel. It’s happy hour from 3-6 pm and we needed something to eat before we left.
Here’s a look at the happy hour menu:
Today, I chose from the happy hour menu:
Adobo Chicken Sliders
Adobo Chicken Sliders – $5
My dish came with two sliders and a reasonable portion of fries!
Here’s a closer look at the adobo chicken slider:
- The sliders came with pico, salsa, and sour cream. It was overall a little bit spicy and unfortunately, the chicken was a bit dry.
- I thought the best part of this special was the fries. The fries were crispy on the outside and very nicely salted.
Taste: 3/5
Presentation: 3.5/5
Value: 4.5/5
This is the salad that Blizzard ordered. It was a type of spinach salad tossed with feta cheese, nuts, and a vinaigrette.
Here’s my bill today. Yes, I also enjoyed a happy hour special of white wine too (it was okay, from Oregon, and I was told not to expect too much for $4):
The Crowne Plaza offers really great value happy hour specials. We enjoyed relaxing here this afternoon as we waited for our shuttle. I will surely miss having everything tax-free, including food. This bill is my last reminder of how I will have to return for a visit, even to partake on more great value meals.
The good…
- Great value during happy hour
- Casual setting
The bad…
- Location inside hotel means it probably only reaches out to hotel guests.
